Maya Juliet Douglas

Jessica and I are ecstatic to announce the birth of our daughter, Maya Juliet Douglas.

Maya was named for the place in the world that Jess and I love the most -- the Mayan Riviera. She came out via C-section at exactly 1:00am on Wednesday morning, November 25, 2009. Mom and Maya are both doing great and sleeping quietly by my side as I write this post-- and I've been smiling for almost seven hours (so much so that my cheeks hurt).

Maya is absolutely beautiful. She has deep blue eyes and a full head of dirty blonde hair. Her ears are relatively floppy, and she definitely has Jess's nose and my eye shape. She is velvety smooth to the touch and smells so pure. She enjoys suckling on my finger, and Jess has already breastfed her once. Everything is bliss.

Thank you to everyone for their thoughts and prayers.

And now... take a look at this heartthrob. (More photos and video coming soon)

Congratulations Jess and Matt, she is beautiful. And congratulations to Maya for being born into such a great family (excluding uncles, of course). So, if Maya is named for your favorite spot on Earth, does that mean Agee and Ryan will have to name their first child Great Wall of China Cress?
Much love,
Uncle Andy, Aunt Susan, Walker and Conor.

We are so excited! She's lovely and loud! Jordi was very concerned about her crying (the whole family is crowded round the computer right now). Can't wait to meet her and love her in person.
