Father's Day at the Zoo

It started as a great idea: let's go to the Southwick Zoo for my first Father's Day! So Jessica, Maya, and I headed to Mendon, MA on Sunday, June 20th to see the monkeys.

We had a great time walking around and introducing Maya to the various types of monkeys and lemurs. We also met a nice giraffe.

About an hour into our visit, we decided to enter the deer forest. At around that time, the sky started to darken, so I took out my iPhone and looked up the local radar. I showed it to Jess -- a little orange and red cell was close by. "Oh, it's really little," Jess said. So we sat down on a bench and admired the deer wandering around. We decided to walk a little further into the deer forest -- when all of a sudden....

Watch the video below to see what happened next. What a fun first Father's Day! (really). Note: If you are reading this in email, please visit the blog to watch the video).

That looks like a Florida storm! The worst part is not the getting wet, but going back inside when the air conditioner is going full blast. Glad your first father's day was memorable! Heidi
